Can I see the running Schedule of events?
Proposed running schedules will be out about one month before the event and a detailed running schedule will be up two hours before the event starts on the day.
For how long can I remain a First Timer?
A First Timer Athlete is an athlete that is competes for the very first time, after that they will move to open divisions.
How do I qualify in my Province for the PCA South African Championships?
All athletes welcome to compete in any of our events in South Africa. All our events will hold selections to possibly qualify to compete in is our South African Championships. PCA South African Championships is generally held in the last quarter of each year and will hold selections to a major Overseas Event.

How does the selection process work?
For you to possibly be selected to compete in our prestigious PCA South African Championships you will have to qualify through one of our events held in the current season. Selections cannot be carried over to the following year (next season). Selected events for world participation to represent South Africa will only be available at selected events through the year, this will include the Battle of the Titans Series (Cape Town), H & H Classic (Johannesburg) & PCA South African Championships.
PCA South Africa provides value added services for our events. Although using our value-added services is not compulsory, we do advise for you to make use of these services as this will put everybody on an equal footing.
Remember it is not in your interest to be too light or too dark against other athletes that have used our services. Relief from stress free competing, you wouldn’t want to stress over tan streaks, open patches, uneven tan, touch-ups etc.

When do I pay for my registration, entry, and services?
Registration, entry is paid on the day of registration, times are set at 09H00 to 10H00 on the day. This is compulsory for all athletes.
Tan, make-up & hairstyling services need to be booked and paid for before the time and this is done on our WhatsApp service number 064 908 3943.

How do I collect my affiliation card or competitor number for the show?
Every athlete needs to be at the compulsory registered on the day as per times on the event poster you have selected, here you will receive their Affiliation card, Competitor number.
Will I be allowed to bring alcohol to the event?
Strictly NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the premises.
Can I compete directly Overseas?
You cannot compete directly Overseas at selected major events. You will have to compete through PCA SA events to qualify for overseas selections to compete in prestigious events, for example PCA Universe / PCA Worlds.
PCA South Africa submits the athlete’s details before an event. You will be denied access and lose your entry funds if paid online and you have not followed this process.
Can I do more than one division?
This depends on the event and which divisions are available. Extra divisions can overlap with others in the following cases.
Toned & Trained Bikini can overlap with Ladies Sports Model.

Do I need to be at Registration?
You will need to be at registration as per times that are stipulated on the poster. Athletes need to have their height and weight checked along with collecting of competitor packs. If you are not there in person, you will not be eligible to compete and will forfeit your service fees.
Do I need to have the most bling to be noticed?
Athletes are welcome to add or remove bling at their discretion. There is no limit, you will not be judged on your bikini, but it does play a part in representation.
Do I need to wear a specific Bikini?
Most athletes have custom made bikinis but a off the rack bikini would also be accepted.
How do I know what is the correct bikini to wear?
Go to our Criteria page for bikini requirements or go to social media pages on pca south africa Instagram / Facebook.
How do I qualify for a PRO CARD?
Any potential athlete that meets the PRO CRITERIA could be eligible for a PCA PRO CARD at selected events.
How does backstage access work? (Backstage Pass)
Most venues have limitations backstage in the changing area. This ticket can only be available at registration on the day and can only be obtained through the competitive athlete if it is available.
How does affiliation work?
Affiliation fee is paid annually (every year) and this is paid with your first event you are competing in that registered year. Once you have received your affiliation card, this will be used to gain access to multiple events around South Africa without having to re purchase affiliation for that year of competing.
We have athlete seminars throughout South Africa during the year, assisting with how an event runs and posing classes afterwards. This is a great opportunity for you to ask questions and set your mind at ease.
If you cannot attend an athlete’s seminar, go like our facebook and Instagram pages and see in albums to gain experience on posing.

If I compete in other federations, will I be banned or marked down at competitions?
We DO NOT hold it against any athlete that competes in other federations. We encourage athletes to compete where they see fit, to gain maximum experience in the sport we love so much. PCA South Africa is here to promote the sport positively. Best of luck. PCA PROs are bound to PCA events only.
Is there equipment to warm up?
It is advised you bring your own resistance bands and dumbbells or what you need to prepare for stage.
Must I wear a specific Men’s Bodybuilding posing trunks?
Any colour posing trunks is accepted. Posing trunks must be free from logos or wording. Posing trunks can be any colour but must have no representation of brands.
We will have a choice of colours available at seminars and registration for Bodybuilding divisions.
What Boardshorts are allowed?
Any colour board-shorts are accepted. An off the rack is also acceptable, for example, Nike, Puma etc.

What shoes do the girls wear?
What would make me stand out to be noticed by the Judges?
Besides your physique for your division, confidence, poise, and grace also plays an integral part when you make that first impression when stepping on stage.
When do athletes’ seminars take place?
Athlete seminars are generally a few weeks before an event. Seminars could be posted on this website but will mainly feature on facebook and Instagram under PCA SOUTH AFRICA.

Will I be in the correct line up?
PCA SA can only advise you where it stand if you are unsure. If you certainly do not fit in the category and you are on stage, you will be bumped up to the next category.
Unfortunately, if you are in a higher-level physique category you cannot go down as that division would have already been judged. Make sure you speak to your Coach/Trainer or Head Judge.

Will tattoos count against me?
Tattoos will not affect your placing.
Will there be Pre-Judging at PCA South African Events?
All PCA South African events are LIVE Judging. Go to our individual show posters for times.
How does the spectator entry work?
Depending on the event hosted. We could split an event into a maximum of four sessions depending on the capacity of the venue and the attendance of the athletes. Spectator tickets will only be available at the door on the day and certain divisions will be grouped to make up per session. Please make sure you follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for up to date information.
How do I get feedback from the Judges?
The best time to get feedback from the Judges is on show day directly after an event. Judges will be at there table to assist with any questions.
